Identity verification (also known as KYC — Know Your Customer) is the process of confirming who you are before you can use One Trading. As a regulated platform, we're required to verify the identity of every user, both when opening an account and periodically afterward.
Why do we require this?
One Trading is strictly regulated and follows clear guidelines set by our regulators regarding what information we must collect and verify from our users. This isn't a one-time check — regulated platforms are required to keep customer information current, not just verify it once at sign-up.
When will I be asked to verify my identity?
- At registration — before you can start using the platform.
- For re-verification — for example, if your ID has expired, or it's been a significant amount of time since your last verification.
Re-verification isn't a sign that anything is wrong with your account. It's part of an ongoing, regulatory-required process that applies to all users, and may happen more than once over time depending on your account activity and document status.
What information do we collect?
- ID document — a valid government-issued ID.
- A scan of your face — to confirm the document belongs to you.
- Tax Identification Number (Tax ID / TIN) — required under the DAC8 regulation. See What is DAC8 and why do I need to provide my Tax ID and Proof of Address?
- Proof of Address — also required under DAC8. See What is Proof of Address and what documents are accepted?
How does the process work?
- You'll be prompted to submit your documents during registration or when re-verification is required.
- Upload your ID document and complete the face scan as instructed.
- Provide your Tax ID and Proof of Address if requested.
- The system reviews your submission — you'll be notified once it's complete.
