What equity futures products are you launching?
We are expanding our product offering to include equity futures — dated futures contracts that allow you to gain leveraged exposure to equity indices and individual company stocks:
- ONEX100 — tracks a basket of 100 leading US non-financial large-cap tech & growth companies
- ONEX500 — tracks a basket of 500 leading US large-cap companies
- Individual stock futures, with more instruments to be added over time.
All equity futures are 5-year dated futures contracts with a fixed maturity date, consistent with our existing crypto futures offering.
How are equity futures different from the crypto futures I already trade on One Trading?
The core structure is the same: these are 5-year dated futures with a funding rate mechanism that keeps the contract price aligned with the underlying price. The key differences are:
- The underlying asset is an equity index or individual stock rather than a cryptocurrency
- Funding payments work differently — see the funding rate section below
- One Trading does not offer equity spot trading, so equity futures are the only way to access these markets on our platform.
What is the underlying price based on?
- For ONEX100, the underlying price is based on the Invesco QQQ ETF.
- For ONEX500, the underlying price is based on the Solactive GBS United States 500 Index (Price Return).
- For individual stock futures, the underlying price is based on the primary exchange price of the respective stock.
What leverage is available on equity futures?
Up to 10x leverage is available on equity futures markets.
What are the trading hours for equity futures?
Equity futures on One Trading are available to trade 24/7.
What are the fees?
See our fee structure here: https://www.onetrading.com/fees
How does the funding rate work on equity futures?
As with our crypto futures, a funding rate mechanism is used to keep the contract price aligned with the underlying price. However, the funding payment schedule is different for equity futures:
- Funding payments are processed twice per day, during US market hours only
- There is a gap of 3 hours and 15 minutes between the two daily funding windows
- No funding payments are processed outside of US market hours
What currency are equity futures denominated in?
All equity futures pairs (e.g. ONEX100/USD) are denominated in USD. Eligible collateral for futures trading is EUR, GBP, or USD, meaning you can open positions regardless of which of these currencies you hold.
Profit and loss on your positions is calculated in USD. For more details on how USD denomination works on One Trading, see this article.
How do I access my profits after closing a position?
Once a position is closed, any profit or loss is reflected in your USD balance. If you wish to withdraw in EUR or GBP, you will need to convert your USD balance first. This can be done in Account > Balances.
Do I need to pass a new appropriateness test to trade equity futures?
No. If you have already passed the futures appropriateness test and are approved to trade on One Trading, you are eligible to trade equity futures without any additional assessment.
Do you offer equity spot trading?
No. One Trading does not currently offer spot trading for equities or individual stocks.
