Frequently Asked Questions
Why are these documents and information required?
Companies like One Trading are legally required to obtain a minimum amount of information from users in the EU to combat money laundering and terrorist financing — commonly referred to as Know Your Customer (KYC) practices. This process cannot be bypassed.
What is a company register extract?
An extract from your company's national register, containing information such as the company name, address, business sector, and ownership data. Companies based in the UK need to provide a Company Snapshot or Certificate issued by Companies House.
Why do you need an organisational chart?
To understand the ownership structure and identify the ultimate beneficial owners — natural persons who directly or indirectly hold at least 20% of the company's shares.
We're a start-up and don't have financial results yet. What can we provide?
If audited financial statements aren't available, a detailed business plan including a financial forecast can be provided instead.
Who is allowed to sign up for a business account?
The person signing up must be authorised to act on behalf of the company (e.g. Director, Manager, CEO), as shown in the company register extract.
I have a power of attorney. Can I sign up for a business account?
No, this isn't possible.
Who is allowed to sign the documents?
All documents must be signed by the company's representative(s). If joint representation rights apply, signatures from all relevant representatives are required.
How long does the review take?
If the required documents and information are provided accurately, the review process can typically be completed within several days.
My application has been rejected. Why?
One Trading reserves the right to decline business account applications for a range of reasons.
How are my private information and documents stored?
Your data is encrypted and stored in a restricted-access database, in line with GDPR requirements. See our privacy policy for more details.
Can I use my private bank account for transfers to or from my business account?
No. Business accounts may only be used for business purposes on behalf of the registered company. Deposits and withdrawals are only permitted to and from bank accounts under the same company name.
What should I do if something changes at my company (e.g. name, director, address, bank account)?
Any changes must be reported to us immediately, along with relevant supporting evidence.
If you have any questions, our support team is happy to help.
