Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is an additional security mechanism used to protect your One Trading account from unauthorized access. With 2FA, you are required to enter not only your password but also complete an additional verification step to successfully log in.
To activate 2FA, please follow these steps:
- After logging in to One Trading, you will automatically see a banner prompting you to enable 2FA. This banner contains a QR code.
- If you are using One Trading on a desktop, open an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator or Authy) on your smartphone. Within the app, select the option to scan a QR code and point your camera at the QR code displayed on the banner.
Note: If you are using One Trading exclusively on your smartphone, you can alternatively click the "Having trouble with the code?" button instead of scanning the QR code on the banner. This will provide you with the code in text format, which you can copy and paste into your authentication app. - Your authentication app will then generate a 6-digit code that refreshes every 30 seconds. Enter this code into the designated field ("Enter your passcode here") on the One Trading platform to complete the login process. Click next.
- Next, you will be shown a long code. This code is your recovery code. It is important to securely store this code as it will grant you access to your account in case you ever lose access to your authentication app.
If you have already enabled Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for your Bitpanda account, you do not need to delete that code from your authenticator app. You will still need it for the login process on the Bitpanda platform.
The activation of 2FA for One Trading is separate and does not affect the existing 2FA code for Bitpanda.
Enabling Two-Factor Authentication provides an additional layer of security for your One Trading account. Make sure to securely store your recovery code and regularly log in to your authentication app to retrieve the current code. If you have any questions about 2FA or need further assistance, we are always here to help. Your security is important to us, and we are committed to providing support.
